Mary Daniel, the young female one-legged in crutches, who sells bottled water on the street recounts how her dream of becoming a lawyer was truncated due to an accident in 2006.
The Nigerian lady was seen in the viral video moving in the streets with the help of a wooden crutch while carrying a load of bot sachet and bottled water on her head for sale to make ends meet.
The wooden crutch alone looks heavy, coupled with the heavy load of water is no doubt a daunting daily activity for a physically challenged woman to depend on for survival.Amputee ‘pure water’ seller gets help from politician to leave the street Amputee ‘pure water’ seller gets help from politician to leave the street Pulse Ghana
A video that captured her going about her business in the streets despite her condition circulated on the internet and got many people reacting and sympathizing with her.
The lady identified as Mary Daniel was seen in the video with her right leg amputated as she walks with the support of a wooden crutch selling her bottled and ‘pure water’.
Mary Daniel has shared her experience, revealing that she was not born with one leg, but that she was the sole survivor of a fatal car accident in 2016.
According to Mary, her dream was to become a lawyer but was truncated due to an accident in 2006.
Despite her misfortune, she said she needed to find a way to support her family, which led her to start selling sachet water on the street where she was discovered.
Along the way, a man came into Mary’s life and made false promises that he would look after her, but after they had a child, he abandoned her.
Mary said that if she receives assistance from a good person, she would stop hawking on the street and learn to sew.
